Alex - 2 month doctor appointment

Alex went to the doctor for his 2 month checkup this past week. He weighed 11 lbs 11 oz and is 22 3/4 inches long. He is in the 50th percentile across the board. We joked with him and told him that he was "just average". Alex also received a series of shots - which of course, he didn't enjoy. The doctor was real impressed with how well Alex was holding his head up and how he seems to start swaying back and forth when on his stomach. The doctor told us that Alex could be rolling over sooner than expected. All in all, Alex got a clean bill of health and we're happy with that:)

Valentine's Day and My Birthday!

After 2 months of being stuck in the house with a newborn, Alex and I decided to spend the night away from the baby. We spent the night downtown at the Sheraton and celebrated Valentine's Day and my birthday. Little Alex stayed at home with his grandma and great-grandma (thanks Suzanne and Louise). We had a great night - went to a romantic dinner (just the two of us) and then met some friends out at a bar. Anyway, here are pictures of the view from our hotel (we had a panoramic view of the river and lake) and with our friends.

More Tummy Time - Alex - 8 weeks old

Here is a video of Alexander smiling at 7 weeks old. He must really love his grandparents because he would smile when I mentioned all of them.

Russian Alex

We found this hat at Target and loved it for Alexander. It is for 12-24 months, so we figure we'll use it next year. However, we tried it on him anyway and he looked hilarious. The hat was too big on him, but we were able to balance it on his head.

Alexander - 6-7 weeks old

Here are some more pictures of Alexander at 6-7 weeks old. He's already wearing 3 month clothes because he's so long. However, it does look like he's finally putting on some weight. His face is getting fuller and he has some rolls around his legs now. ENJOY!

Alex's 1 month doctor visit

Alex had his 1 month doctor visit yesterday and we got some very good news. He weighs 8 pounds 2 ounces and is now 21 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. The doctor isn't concerned about his weight gain. He said Alex will probably be long and lean (again - like his dad). We also found out that he can now see color and can focus on objects anywhere from 8-15 inches from him. The doctor told us that Alex won't be able to see both far and near until he's about 6 weeks old. Currently, he only sees things that are near. He's been eating a lot and sleeps about 3 hours in between feedings.

Today, we decided to lay Alex in his crib (for the first time) and see how he liked it. We have a mobile hanging over part of the crib. We turned it on while Alex was laying in his crib to see if it would entertain him. He laid there for over a half hour just watching and cooing at the moving mobile. It was a very exciting moment for the Milovic family:)

Tummy Time!!

Alex is almost 1 month old and he loves spending time on his tummy. He lifts his head and even moves it from one side to the other! Looks like he's pretty strong (like his dad). Here are some pictures of Alex on his tummy.
